The Centre for Appropriate Technology and Development is proud to announce a historic milestone with two of its recent graduates securing fully sponsored, three-year international apprenticeship placements with the renowned Akita Nissan Company in Japan.
Mr. Uraia Aune Junior, an automotive engineering graduate from Sasa Village in Ba, is the first fully sponsored CATD student to be placed under this Japanese Government-supported program. He is joined by fellow graduate Mr. Jone Vanani. This landmark achievement is a testament to the high standard of vocational training provided at CATD, demonstrating that the institution’s programmes are equipping students with globally competitive skills.
The three-year contract provides Messrs. Aune and Vanani with invaluable hands-on experience in a world-leading automotive firm. This collaboration underscores the deepening partnership between Fiji and Japan in education and skills development, offering a powerful pathway for Fijian youth to gain international exposure and expertise. Their success is a source of immense pride for CATD and serves as an inspiration for current and prospective students to strive for excellence in their technical fields.
