Electrical Fitter/Mechanic

Train to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in real workplaces. Our one year programme blends campus learning with an industry placement and concludes with a trade test so you graduate job ready.

Course Overview

The Electrical Fitter/Mechanic programme prepares you for hands on roles across installation, maintenance, and diagnostics. With intakes in January and July, you’ll complete two semesters in one year: Semester 1 combines theory with practical labs. Semester 2 is an industrial attachment, followed by a trade test. CATD runs rolling intakes, with exams in June and November, and graduations in April and September.

Tuition & Fees

This new program is designed to make CATD training more affordable while ensuring core support remains in place. If you are not employed after completing your training, you won’t be required to begin repayments until you secure a job.

Where could this programme take you?

Build core skills in circuits, motors, controls, safety, and fault-finding. After on-campus training and a supervised placement, you’ll sit the trade test and graduate the following year. Typical pathways include apprentice electrician, maintenance technician, or service roles with a clear route into advanced trade qualifications.
