History

Our journey began in the 1980s, established by the German government through the Hans- Siedel Foundation. We were initially located in Walu Bay, Suva, before finding our home at the Nadave campus in Bau, Tailevu. In 1985, the Centre was handed over to the Fiji Government, a significant step that cemented our role in the nation’s future.

As a registered charitable trust, we operate under Fiji’s Charitable Trusts Act (Cap. 67). We are also a fully registered Higher Education Institution with the Fiji Higher Education Commission (HEC), operating under the Higher Education Act 2008 (No. 6 of 2008).

The original intent of the Centre was to train rural technicians, and this mission remains at our core. Students are nominated by their provincial councils, with the approval of the Roko Tui, ensuring we serve the communities most in need across Fiji’s 14 provinces and Rotuma.
